Scarlet oak has a rounded open habit cloaked with 3-6" green leaves that are deeply lobed and bristled at each tip. Like all Oaks, this selection provides food and support for hundreds of native pollinators while being an excellent, low-maintenance shade tree with outstanding scarlet fall color.

INTERESTING FACTS

Colorful inside and out. Scarlet oak displays colorful leaves on the outside and red to salmon-colored inner bark. The twigs of the tree are also somewhat reddish-brown. 

GROWING TIPS

Grows well in dry to medium moisture, well-drained, acidic, sandy soils.
